Horrid Henry The Movie Story

Horrid Henry: The Movie is a 3D family comedy film based on the fictional character Horrid Henry. The first British film for children to be shot in 3D, its United Kingdom release date was 29 July 2011. The film is directed by Nick Moore. On February 11, 2012, Phase 4 Films has announced that this film will be released in theaters in the United States and Canada on December 22, 2012.

Horrid Henry The Movie Plot

Horrid Henry is too busy dreaming about being a rock star and fending off his little brother Perfect Peter to do his homework. Naturally, this gets him into all kinds of trouble. His teacher, Miss Battle-Axe promptly puts him in detention. It is revealed that Ashton Primary, the school Henry attends, is to be closed and Vic Van Wrinkle, the headmaster of Brick House School, stands to make a fortune from the resulting influx of pupils. With the help of his worst arch-enemy Moody Margaret and her sidekick Sour Susan, Henry comes up with a plan to save the school, to avoid having to deal with the new school fees. First, he decides to enter a Talent Contest with his 'Zero Zombies' Band even though they were banned by Miss Oddbod for throwing goo which hits Miss Lovely which he reckons that they'll become 'famous enough' that they won't want to shut the school down. During their performance in front of Ed Banger and the Killer Boy Rats, Soggy Sid tries to ruin the Performance but Margaret and her friends manage to stop him. After winning the show, Henry is found out that he was on the show and Miss Oddbod explains to him that his theory was wrong and that he should have thought about stopping the school closing down before he started being 'horrid'.

This Is 40 Story

This Is 40 is a 2012 American comedy film written, co-produced and directed by Judd Apatow. It is a spin-off sequel to the 2007 film Knocked Up and stars Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann. Filming was conducted in mid-2011, and the film was released in North America on December 21, 2012. The film continues to follow the lives of middle-aged married couple Pete and Debbie, as they both deal with turning forty, with each of their jobs and their children Sadie and Charlotte adding stress to their relationship. The film was distributed by Universal Pictures and was filmed and produced by Apatow's company, Apatow Productions. This Is 40 received generally mixed reviews from critics who praised its acting, and cast, as well as the film's very comedic moments and perceptive scenes, but criticized the film's overlong running time and occasional aimlessness.

 

This Is 40 Plot

The film begins with couple Debbie and Pete first seen in Knocked Up, having sex for Debbie's fortieth birthday. Pete then reveals that he took a viagra given to him by his friend Barry before they had sex which enrages Debbie and they stop. Debbie is angered that she is turning forty and continues to deny the fact. After five years, Debbie now owns a boutique with employees Desi and Jodi working for her. During her time working, Debbie notices money missing, and Jodi tells her that Desi has probably been stealing from the store. Pete now owns his own record label, Unfiltered Records, with his friends Ronnie and Cat working with him. Pete's business is struggling, as he is trying to sell an album for, but fails after it only several hundred copies. The couple also are having to deal with their two daughters Sadie, who is now a young teenager, and Charlotte who is now eight years old. After speaking with her friends Jason and Barb, Debbie decides to improve her and Pete's relationship and family by exercising more, and becoming more connected with their parents. Debbie tells Pete that he needs to stop lending his dad, Larry, money, because it is hurting them financially.

The Impossible Story

The Impossible is a 2012 English-language Spanish disaster drama film directed by Juan Antonio Bayona from a screenplay written by Sergio G. Sánchez, starring Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor. It tells the true story of a Spanish family's experience of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. The Impossible had its world premiere at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival on September 9, where it received critical acclaim. The film was released on October 11, 2012 in Spain and in North America on December 21, 2012 by Summit Entertainment. The film marks the second collaboration between Watts and McGregor after appearing together in the 2005 film Stay.

 

The Impossible Plot

The film tells the true story of a family, played by Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor, and their three children. It starts as the family begins their Christmas vacation in Thailand, with the intention of spending a few days at a tropical paradise resort. However, their idyllic vacation is interrupted on the morning of December 26, 2004, when a devastating tsunami destroys the coastal zone. The family is separated in surviving the disaster, and they begin a desperate search to reunite.

Jack Reacher Story

Jack Reacher is a 2012 American crime film. It is a adaptation of Lee Child's 2005 novel One Shot. Written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the film stars Tom Cruise as the title character. The film entered production in October 2011, and concluded in January 2012. It was filmed entirely on location in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Jack Reacher's US premiere gala, scheduled for December 15, was delayed after a school shooting on December 14. The film was released in North America on December 21, and in the United Kingdom on December 26, 2012.

 

Jack Reacher Plot

In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a man named Charlie drives a van up floors of a parking garage and readies a sniper rifle. He takes aim and appears to randomly kill five people. Police soon arrest a man named James Barr, a former army sharpshooter. However, the police and Emerson, a detective, discover evidence at the crime scene and at Barr's house. During his interrogation, Barr asks Emerson and the District Attorney, Alex Rodin to get Jack Reacher, a drifter and former Army Military Police officer, who arrives just as Rodin and Emerson are reviewing his file.

Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away is a 2012 3D film directed by Andrew Adamson. The film premiered on October 20, 2012 at the Tokyo International Film Festival, and it was released theatrically in the United States on December 21, 2012. It was released in 2D and 3D. It stars Erica Linz & Igor Zaripov as the main characters and incorporates acts from the seven Cirque du Soleil shows running in Las Vegas in 2011: O, Mystère, Kà, Love, Zumanity, Viva Elvis and Criss Angel Believe. The 3D used in the film was highly admired by the critics on its Tokyo premiere.

Cirque du Soleil Worlds Away Plot

A young woman named Mia in a small Mid-Western town goes to a traveling carnival one evening, where she is urged by a silent clown to visit the carnival's circus and see The Aerialist, the show's star attraction. She is entranced by the Aerialist, but during his act he misses a catch and falls to the ground. She rushes to help him, but then the ground beneath them gives way and they fall through into the dreamlike world of Cirque du Soleil. Separated, they travel through the different tent worlds trying to find each other, interacting with the strange and wonderful performers and performances of Cirque du Soleil. Mia and the Aerialist perform an aerial courtship for the grand finale.

Zero Dark Thirty Story

Zero Dark Thirty is a 2012 American action thriller directed and co-produced by Kathryn Bigelow with screenplay by Mark Boal. Billed as "the story of history's greatest manhunt for the world's most dangerous man," the film chronicles American efforts to capture or kill Osama bin Laden. Monsters, Inc. is a 2001 American computer-animated comedy-adventure film directed by Pete Docter, released by Walt Disney Pictures, and the fourth film produced by Pixar Animation Studios. Co-directed by Lee Unkrich and David Silverman, the film stars two monsters who work for a company named Monsters, Inc.: top scarer James P. Sullivan—known as "Sulley"—and his one-eyed assistant, Mike Wazowski. Monsters generate their city's power by scaring children, but they are terribly afraid themselves of being contaminated by children, so when one enters Monstropolis, Sulley finds his world disrupted. Docter began developing the film in 1996 and wrote the story with Jill Culton, Jeff Pidgeon, and Ralph Eggleston. Fellow Pixar director Andrew Stanton wrote the screenplay with screenwriter Daniel Gerson. The characters went through many incarnations over the film's five-year production process. The technical team and animators found new ways to render fur and cloth realistically for the film. Randy Newman, who composed Pixar's three prior films, returned to compose their fourth.

Monsters, Inc. Plot

The parallel city of Monstropolis is inhabited by monsters and powered by the screams of children in the human world. At the Monsters, Inc. factory, employees called "Scarers" venture into children's bedrooms to scare them and collect their screams, using closet doors as portals. This is considered a dangerous task since the monsters believe children to be toxic and that touching them would be fatal. However, production is falling as children are becoming harder to scare and the company chairman Henry J. Waternoose III is determined to find a solution. The top Scarer is James P. "Sulley" Sullivan, who lives with his assistant Mike Wazowski and has a rivalry with the ever-determined chameleon-like monster Randall Boggs. During an ordinary day's work on the "Scarefloor", another Scarer accidentally brings a child's sock into the factory, causing the Children Detection Agency (CDA) to arrive and cleanse him. Mike is harassed by Roz the clerk for never completing his paperwork on time.
